Billing and plans
Plan changes and payment details are managed by the organisation owner because the subscription is attached to their account. Admins can view plans and usage, but the owner completes upgrades.
How pricing works
Plans are priced on two simple metrics:
- Words imported per month: the volume of source content brought into the platform.
- Tokens: AI feature consumption (translation, LQA, research). Each plan includes a token allowance; beyond it, token top-ups are available on a sliding scale (cheaper per 1K tokens at larger bundles), and an overage rate applies.
Seats come with the plan tier. The counted seat cap applies to admin and PM seats; linguist, editor, and QA reviewer seats are unlimited on paid plans.
Plans
The free Marketplace account is for a linguist profile, applications, and work assigned from a paying client's workspace. It does not include independent projects or source-file imports.
The paid Linguist workspace is £25 monthly or £250 annually. It includes 100,000 imported source words and 250,000 AI tokens each month, one counted owner/manager seat, and unlimited production collaborators. Higher tiers increase capacity and counted management seats.
The Plans page contains the latest prices, allowances, seat limits, feature comparison, and token top-up options. Annual plans charge ten months' price upfront (two months free); word and included-token allowances continue to reset monthly. Upgrading is self-service via card payment processed by Stripe.

Prices are correct at the time they are published and may change. Always use the live Plans page when comparing tiers or approving a purchase.
Managing the subscription
The Billing & Subscription page shows your current plan's words per month, counted seats included, and overage rate, and gives the owner:
- Update Payment Method: change card or payment details.
- View Invoices: download past invoices and receipts.
- Compare Plans: jump to the plans page to change tier.
An owner who already has a Stripe subscription manages renewal, cancellation, payment details, and invoices through the Stripe customer portal. They cannot accidentally create a second subscription from the Plans page.
Negotiated billing
Platform superusers can record an agreed amount in Negotiated billing deals in Django admin and issue it through Stripe. Supported agreements are:
- A one-off GBP invoice with explicit service start and end dates.
- A monthly invoiced subscription.
- An annual invoiced subscription.
The deal may override the normal monthly words, included tokens, and counted management seats. Access begins only after Stripe successfully creates and sends the invoice or subscription. Time-bounded one-off access starts and expires from the saved contract dates automatically.
What to upgrade for
The three resources that run out are counted seats, monthly word volume, and tokens. Check the usage dashboard before upgrading. A token top-up is often cheaper than a tier jump when words and seats are sufficient.
