Editor side panels and tools

Beyond the segment grid, the editor's panels put context and quality tooling next to the text.

Some actions in these panels depend on project permissions. Existing information remains readable even when your PM has disabled the action that creates or changes it.

Research panel​

If your PM has enabled AI tools, the Research panel holds the project's generated research and applies it to the active segment:

  • Project Research: industry context, audience, approach, terminology, products, style examples, and cultural notes.
  • Current Segment Analysis: terms, definitions, examples, translation challenges, and recommendations for the active segment.
  • Deep research: an on-demand investigation of one difficult segment.

Adding an identified term to a termbase also requires the project's termbase-editing permission.

TM/TB matches​

For the active segment, translation memory matches and termbase terms appear in Insights. The default lookup uses the active language pair. Use the explicit cross-language action when another target language may provide useful reference.

Expand a result to see its resource, language pair, context, usage, and other available metadata. Double-click a TM result to replace the target or a TB result to insert at the remembered caret. Numbered results also support the keyboard shortcuts listed in Editing segments.

When your PM has enabled termbase editing, you can add or edit entries without leaving the editor. Add term opens as a right-side panel and takes values only from text you explicitly select.

Concordance​

The Concordance tab searches project TM, TB, or both without requiring an active segment. Use it to investigate how a word or phrase has been translated elsewhere and inspect the resource and language-pair metadata before applying a result.

AI Review panel​

After an LQA run, the AI Review panel shows the active segment's current linguistic assessment and suggestions. Stale findings remain labelled until LQA runs again against the edited target.

Quality metrics​

The Edit Score section explains how far the final target moved from its primary translation baseline. It uses an adaptive blend of Jaccard and Levenshtein distance and can be minimised. The same per-segment values are available from the Edit Distance CSV export.

Comments & history​

One panel combines the active segment's comment thread and revision history. Replies notify thread participants according to their preferences, mentions can notify specific users, and resolved discussion remains available for audit. Comment text, category, edit attribution, resolution attribution, and saved translation changes use privacy-safe display names.

Document preview & screenshots​

The Preview pane renders supported documents so you can review translated text in context. It refreshes after successful saves while preserving its scroll position. Some segments also include screenshots supplied by the source system or project team.

File Issues​

The File Issues tab is the main whole-session QA and LQA queue. It can be pinned, widened, filtered by issue system and disposition, and sorted by document order, error type, or severity. See QA and LQA.

Spelling and project dictionary​

Enable View > Spelling for target-language underlines and the spelling panel. The project dictionary is searchable and language-scoped. If your PM has enabled dictionary editing, you can add or remove project words; otherwise it remains read-only. Dictionary changes refresh loaded spelling results without reloading the segment pages.

Pronunciation glossary (video projects)​

On dubbing work, open the Pronunciation Glossary from the dubbing panel's toolbar. It records the term, phonetic spelling, category, and notes so generated voice-over pronounces names and brand terms consistently.
