Operations guide
Operations is the business side of LanguageOps: clients, vendors, rates, quotes, jobs, purchase orders, invoices, supplier bills and accounting sync. It sits beside the translation work, so the file analysis that prices a quote is the same one that sets the vendor's purchase order.
Operations is an add-on module. It is included in Agency and Enterprise plans and available on Professional and Team. It is in active development: screens may change, and features are added regularly. Your organisation's owner or an admin turns it on.
Where to find it
Open Operations in the sidebar. The tabs are:
| Tab | What it's for |
|---|---|
| Overview | Counts and what needs attention |
| Requests | Quote requests from clients, including the email inbox |
| Projects | Every project with its commercial status; open one for its ledger, quotes, jobs, POs and invoices |
| Clients / Providers | Your clients and vendors |
| Workflows | Reusable stage templates (translation, revision, proofreading…) |
| Rates | Every rate rule, searchable and filterable |
| Quotes | All quotes and their versions |
| Finance | Invoices, supplier bills, credit notes and payments; see Invoicing and Xero |
| Interpreting | Interpreting bookings, calendar and cancellation policy |
| Quality | Complaints, feedback and corrective actions |
| Templates | Layouts for quotes, invoices and POs |
| Settings | Defaults, payment terms, Xero, custom fields |
Working with lists
Every list can be searched and filtered, and sorted by clicking a column heading (click again to reverse, a third time to clear). What you've searched, filtered and sorted is kept in the page address, so you can bookmark a list or send the link to a colleague. Save view stores the current search, filters and sort under a name; pick it later from Saved views. Columns shows or hides columns; your choice is kept in the address and in saved views, and CSV exports include only the visible columns.
Simple or advanced view
The View: Simple / Advanced switch in the Operations top bar (owners and admins) changes what your whole team sees. Simple hides workflows, rate cards, templates, interpreting, quality, jobs, purchase orders and qualifications, for teams that only need clients, quotes and invoices. Advanced shows the full toolset. The switch only changes the screens: no data is removed, and you can switch back at any time.
